The 16th century ruins of an old castle and tower house overlooking a working Irish farmyard.

Garron Castle or Garranmaconly Towerhouse dates from the late 16th century and was originally built by the Fitzpatrick family. The six storey house stayed with the Fitzpatrick’s until the middle of the 17th century when passed to the Vicars family. Today two walls of the castle have collapsed leaving what remains towering over a farmyard and the present owners house.
